THE FINAL BATTLE: Wild Bees vs Bunyip, Sunday 6 September 2026

One last game. One last fight. One incredible season.

And just like that… we reached the final chapter.

The last game of the season, against a strong Bunyip side who were fighting for a top spot. We knew it was going to be tough. Physical, intense, and definitely not a Sunday stroll.

But the Wild Bees walked onto that pitch confident, determined and ready to fight for every single ball.

🔥 First Half: No Fear, No Gaps

From the first whistle, we showed exactly what we came for.

Bunyip had technical players, strong kicks and a clear plan to play through the middle. We had something equally important: grit, determination and absolutely no intention of making it easy for them.

We stayed organised, played wide, controlled the ball and looked for the spaces. We all trusted each other

At the back, Talya keeps getting better with every game, growing into the goalkeeper role and giving us confidence behind the defence.

Ellie was determined that absolutely nobody was getting past her. Instructions received. Mission accepted. Soldier mode activated. 🫡

Liv was fast, confident and everywhere she needed to be — and, importantly… NO handball today. 😂 Love you!

And then there was Romy, our Queen Bee, who may actually need a new nickname: The Wall. Not one ball was getting through her.

Sandra looked confident and secure, starting some great attacking plays from the back.

A massive shoutout to the whole defence — you were disciplined, brave and incredibly hard to break down.

In midfield, Reut, Rebecca, Shiran, Lani and Hayley were absolutely up to the challenge. Fighting for every ball, covering ground, making tackles and keeping us in the battle. Refusing to surrender

Up front, Tami and Rachelli created chances, corners and some beautiful through balls. We had opportunities, but Bunyip’s goalkeeper was having a very good day.

Halftime: 0–0.

⚔️ Second Half: Heart Over Legs

The second half became even more physical.

Fatigue started to show. We had a few injuries and some tired legs, but nobody switched off.

Hayley kept finding another gear.

Lani kept fighting for every ball.

Rebecca kept giving us options.

Reut stayed composed under pressure.

And Tami and Rachelli kept looking for that one chance that could change everything.

Then, with around ten minutes left, Bunyip finally found the breakthrough.

1–0.

And that could have been the moment we dropped our heads.

But we didn’t.

We kept pushing. We kept believing. We kept fighting until the very last whistle.

We didn’t find the equaliser, but we walked off that pitch knowing we had given absolutely everything.

💛 The Wild Bees Season

This wasn’t just our last game.

It was the end of our first ever 11-a-side season.

A team that came from playing 7-a-side, learning a completely different game, learning positions, spacing, tactics, communication and how to survive on a pitch that suddenly felt approximately the size of Australia. 😂

And look how far we came.

We competed.

We improved.

We challenged strong teams.

We learned.

We laughed.

We got frustrated. Won, lost.

We celebrated.

And most importantly, we did it together.

We missed Adi, Ari, Mayo, Mich and Row today — you were definitely there with us in spirit. 💛

And a mention to Anna, who unfortunately got injured just before the game and couldn’t take the field. We wish you a speedy recovery and can’t wait to have you back with us.

Thank you for the clear instructions, the incredible training sessions, the patience, the encouragement and for pushing us further than we thought we could go.

You took us from 7-a-side beginners to a team capable of competing in 11-a-side football against some seriously strong opposition.

And now, as we head into Rosh Hashanah, we have a lot to be proud of.

A new year.

A new chapter.

And hopefully… a few more goals next season. 😜
