The Covid lock down has thrown up its own problems but between the problems there are also opportunities that can be picked out.
We might not have been able to host academy coaches from Maccabi Tel Aviv earlier in the year so instead MTA set up coach training for us via the popular zoom platform.
On the evening of Thursday 30 April, 17 members of the football department were treated to a presentation by MTA academy coach Robin Verheul.
Robin gave us some insight into the MTA training methods and philosophy.
As informative as it all was the most surprising thing, from our point of view, was that the MTA methods are not so different from what we do in Caulfield.
Of course we can learn a lot from the Israeli professionals but it is good to know that at least we are on the right track.
Over the coming weeks MTA will be providing us with more training that we expect our local coaches to lap up.
This is the start of a wonderful relationship between the clubs and we are proud to say that we are part of the MTA family now.
