Maccabi FC Solovey Stingers Rev Up for Season 2027

Following the remarkable success of the inaugural Solovey Stingers development teams in 2026, Maccabi FC Caulfield is eager to kick off the upcoming season early, wrapping up four intensive weeks of player trials.

Tremendous credit goes to Solovey Stingers Coordinator Sammy Want for establishing a clear football pathway for our talented young athletes, as well as to Coach Dylan, whose leadership helped steer the teams toward extraordinary achievements in 2026.

In their debut season:

• The U12 Solovey Stingers (coached by Dylan) battled hard to finish near the top of their table.

• The U13 Solovey Stingers (coached by Sammy) enjoyed a triumph, winning their division before claiming a heroic second place in the Victorian State Finals.

These represent magnificent milestones for a program launched as a simple concept just 12 months ago. The overarching vision remains strong: build high-performance development teams at foundational age groups and expand upward year by year across the club.

Looking Ahead to 2027

Driven by this momentum, Sammy and the coaching team got the ball rolling early. Over the past month, tryouts took place for three Solovey Stingers squads planned for 2027: U12, U13, and U14.

The response was overwhelming, with strong numbers turning out across all age groups:

• U12: 30 trialists

• U13: 24 trialists

• U14: 23 trialists

Yesterday marked the final day of trials, showcasing an incredible display of heart, skill, and talent. Assessors are now reviewing the trial evaluations and will convene in an online meeting to compare notes and finalise player selections.

Next Steps & Selection Offers

We understand how eager players and parents are to hear the outcome. Formal offers will be sent via email to parents, with a 48-hour window to confirm their child’s spot by paying a non-refundable deposit.

General team announcements are expected to be finalized by the end of the month.
