The U13 Solovey Stingers brought pure heart, relentless hustle, and unwavering determination to the pitch today, facing off against Laverton FC in the FV U13A State Final.
While courage and grit couldn't quite get the team over the line in a tough 5–1 loss against a phenomenal opponent—with Zusha Faigenbaum netting the lone goal for the Stingers—the final scoreline only tells part of the story. Win or lose, this squad has captured the spirit of the club all season long, and the pride in the Hive is immeasurable.
Exceptional Leadership on and off the Pitch
A massive part of this incredible journey is thanks to the superb work, dedication, and tactical guidance of coach Sammy Want. Week in and week out, Sammy has driven this squad to elevate their game, fostering an environment of excellence, discipline, and absolute teamwork that brought the Stingers all the way to the State Final.
Behind every successful team is an engine room of tireless support. A special and heartfelt mention goes to Team Manager Steven, administrator Martin, and club president Ari for their unwavering dedication. Their steadfast support of this team and the entire Stingers pathway concept throughout the 2026 season has been instrumental in turning vision into reality and making the Hive proud every single week.

Though today's championship match didn't end in fairy-tale fashion, the Stingers have plenty of historic milestones to celebrate. The club is absolutely thrilled to add two brand-new Football Victoria pennants to hang high in the Hive, a testament to the immense hard work, leadership, and growth shown by every single player and staff member over the course of the campaign.
From hard-fought victories on freezing mornings to moments of absolute brilliance under pressure, this group of boys has represented Maccabi FC with unmatched class and resilience.
