In Loving Memory of William (Billy) Purcell
We would like to pay tribute to a wonderful man and the father of our Womens Head Coach (Timmy Purcell), Willian (Billy) Purcell.
A sport lover and successful sportsman himself, Billy was a Hurling Legend in his home town of Kilkenny, Ireland.
Billy never played a hurling game at Senior level for Kilkenny without having his name of the score sheet, he was his clubs most consistent forward for many years.
Many of our women were fortunate enough to meet and spend time with Billy in Israel whilst participating in the 2017 Maccabiah Games.
Billy was a part of our Maccabiah family, attending all of our matches and offering support, important insight and positivity to all throughout the tournament.
It was a privilege to have Billy with us on our Maccabiah Journey, and he will be sorely missed by all that had the opportunity to meet and get to know him.
Our thoughts go out to his family, his wife Annette, and sons Martin, Timmy & Enda.
