Maccabi FC Senior Women’s Awards 2023

The senior women’s awards presentation was held on Tuesday night 10 Oct at the Caulfield Park bowls club with all of the players in attendance in their mixed football club shirts.

It capped off what was a significant year in women’s football at Maccabi FC.

Coach Dimitri started the season as a new member of the club and had to build his team almost from scratch due to a number of players stepping down at the end of 2022.

Dimi, as we call him, drew on all of his resources as well as U16 girls at the club to pull together a team that finished sixth on the table at the end of season 2023. It was a credit to him and the players and bodes well for season 2024 already.

President Kevin Milstein praised the players and Dimi for the effort that they put in during the season. As he pointed out, the first half of the season was a real struggle, but the second half showed that the Queen Bees were the equal of most teams in the competition.

After a few pizzas and drinks the awards were presented to the players as below, as well as gifts given by the players to Dimi, Kevin and team manager Michelle for all the hard work put in during the year. A special mention was made of Martin who was there in the back room helping the team at all times.

Bring on season 2024, go Queen Bees!
