Celebrating Excellence: Maccabi FC Coaches Awards Night 2026
Last night, our club community came together to celebrate the dedication, hard work, and passion of our incredible coaching team at the annual Maccabi FC Coaches Awards.
A Massive Congratulations to Sammy Want!
Huge congratulations to Sammy Want for taking home the prestigious Bernie Weiss Coaching Excellence Award! 🏆 The award was presented by Bernie Weiss on the night.
Sammy delivered an outstanding season, not only coaching our U13 Stingers but stepping up to seamlessly organize the Stingers program across two age groups. Taking on a massive challenge as a rookie, he grew into the role with the expertise and composure of a seasoned pro.
Special Guests & Insights from Melbourne Victory FC
A massive thank you to Andrew Durante and Simon Rodder from our community football partner, Melbourne Victory FC, for joining us on the night! ⚽️🤝
A true highlight of the evening was the live chat between Andrew and club President Ari (pictured in the middle). Ari proved to be an incredible interviewer on the night—it came as a huge surprise that this was actually his first time doing it, and it's safe to say he might have a brand new career path to look into! The session was packed with invaluable coaching insights and wisdom for our team.
A Night to Remember
The celebration was packed with memorable moments:
The James Bond Extravaganza: Andy treated everyone to a brilliant, custom video production capturing our coaches in action at training and matchdays, presented with a classic 007 flair!
Appreciating Our People: A huge thank you to all our dedicated club coaches who joined us, alongside the Maccabi FC members, crew, and staff whose hard work behind the scenes keeps our club thriving.
Fueling the Fun: A special shoutout to Shemesh Pizza for providing wonderful nourishment for the evening.
Gifts & Recognition: Thank you to Cambridge Cellars for providing a fantastic liquid gift for our special guest Andrew Durante, and to Mark at 5 Star Trophies for crafting the stunning award for the night.
As the saying goes: teamwork makes the dream work! Thank you to everyone who made this special evening possible.
