A New Era for the Wild Bees

Our first real competitive game after three years in social leagues, stepping up against Old Scotch SC Seniors, and it showed us exactly where we’re at and where we’re going.

On paper, a 0–3 result.

In reality, something much bigger.

We played a full 90 minutes on a proper pitch, against a team of teens and early twenty somethings, while our average age sits closer to 40. And still, we didn’t drop off. We didn’t fall apart. We didn’t back down.

We matched the pace.

We challenged them.

We made them work for everything and yes, they felt it.

This wasn’t a team being outplayed, this was a team adjusting. Adjusting to the speed, the space and the intensity of a higher level game.

And that’s the exciting part.

Because once we calibrate to the pace, to the size of the field, to the demands of a full 90, we’re going to be a problem.

Proud of the grit. Proud of the effort. Proud of this team.

Now… time for our old lady bones to focus on recovery this week 🛁😅

This is just the beginning
