The Beehive is officially open. Mezuzah and all.

Its no secret that at the end of season 2023 we got to work on the old bunker to try and create home change rooms that we wanted to be more user friendly and welcoming for all of our club members and opposition too.

So, after weeks of planning, preparation and labour the new Beehive began operating in early 2024 and has now become the focal point for the club in Caulfield Park for training sessions and on matchdays.

To make it official, on Monday 15 April, MFCC hosted guests from Glen Eira council, the Community Bank Caulfield Park, our local state representative David Southwick, some of our regular coaches and even Rabbi Rabin of Caulfield synagogue to open the Beehive with the placing of a Mezuzah on the front entrance.

Sure, its still an old building, a very old building in fact, but at least the interior has become much more cozy for those hundreds of players, coaches and public that use the Beehive for a number of purposes throughout the season.

President, Kevin Milstein, thanked all of those in attendance and made a special mention of two people that were instrumental in getting the Beehive project up and working, Robi Roth and Andrew Yarrow.

After the speech the guests were shown around the ‘Hive and Rabbi Rabin placed the Mezuzah in the entrance and blessed it accordingly.

We would like to thank Cr Sam Parasol of Glen Eira council, Gary Hershan and David Clarke (absent) of the Caulfield Park Community Bank for helping to underpin the project. David Southwick MP for always being supportive of the club and its community, as well as Michael Kan and Martin Jona for being in attendance and being an integral part of the Maccabi FC team.

For as long as the Beehive supports Maccabi FC, we expect it to be buzzing with excitement and cheer, no matter what the football scores may be.
